It Gets Weirder is a hilarious quirky card game that will get you rolling with laughter - A card game about who can create a more weird situation. The challenge for this project was to create a unique party game for people ages 18-24 from scratch. Research proved that college aged people gravitated toward weird humor. We also found they wanted something that was easily portable which is where our decision fo the card game came about. We came to the conclusion of a card game. As a group we equally worked on all parts of the design successfully executing the illusion it was created by one designer.
Following with the "weird" theme we knew we wanted something more interactive than a piece of paper organized to match the box as our instructions. We started thinking of things that came in layers and came to the conclusion to have each instruction be on a sandwich in which the player can flip through.
With creating a game that was weird, wacky and random we needed to set some rules to avoid the design looking messy. In other words we needed to create organized chaos. These rules included the names of the specific people in each category card be on the lower third of the card, each card would only include one kind of manipulation with only two or three digital textures and we would stick to five colors: pink, blue, green, orange and yellow. All the category cards would be set up the same with two digital textures and the name on the top section of the card with each category being a different color.
